What is the PRCA?

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is rodeo's principal American sanctioning body — founded in 1936 by competitors who walked out of a Boston rodeo over prize money (as the Cowboys' Turtle Association), and today sanctioning some 600 rodeos a year toward the National Finals.[1] [2]

What does it govern?

Rules and judging, animal-welfare regulations, contestant membership and the world standings — the earnings ladder that decides who reaches the NFR and who leaves Las Vegas a world champion.[2]
