What is the PDC?

The Professional Darts Corporation runs elite professional darts — founded in 1992 when leading players broke away from the established body, and now the sport's commercial and competitive centre, with the World Championship its crown.[1] [2]

What does it run?

The World Championship, Premier League, World Matchplay, Grand Slam, UK Open, World Cup of Nations and the Players Championship circuit; the Order of Merit; Q-School and tour cards; plus development and women's series feeding the main tour — while the World Darts Federation governs the amateur and national-association game.[2] [3]

Why does it matter?

The PDC's rankings, tour cards and titles are darts' entire professional record — and its prize money, now topping £1m for a world title, marks how far the sport has travelled.[2] [3]
