What is the K.B.B.B.?
The Koninklijke Belgische Boksbond (K.B.B.B.) is the national boxing federation of Belgium. World Boxing lists it in English as the Royal Belgian Boxing Federation, its member for Belgium, with Norbert Keller as president and Ibrahim Emsallak as its World Boxing delegate for Belgium.[1] The federation states: “De Koninklijke Belgische Boksbond (K.B.B.B.) verenigt het bokslandschap om de bokssport te versterken in ons land.” (The K.B.B.B. unites the boxing landscape to strengthen the sport in the country.)[5]
What does the K.B.B.B. govern or do?
The federation states: “Zowel het profboksen als het Olympisch boksen vallen onder bevoegdheden van de K.B.B.B.” (Both professional boxing and Olympic boxing fall under the K.B.B.B.’s authority.) It describes itself as “de enigste en meest significante sportfederatie voor het boksen in België” (the only and most significant sports federation for boxing in Belgium), and says that, through training courses, it invests in a quality environment for athletes, involving coaches, administrators and medical experts.[5] Its site has sections for amateurs, professionals, results, clubs, agents and events, and menu links headed “Kampioenen Pro” and “Blacklist Pro”.[4]
When was the K.B.B.B. founded and where is it based?
The federation gives its postal address as Vrijheidslaan 175, 1080 Brussel.[4] Its site is published in Dutch, French, German and English.[4] Its about page names its board: Norbert Keller as chairman (“Voorzitter KBBB”), Marco Giuliani and Emmanuel Demanet as vice-chairmen (“Ondervoorzitter KBBB”), Hugues Hellebaut as general secretary (“Algemeen Secretaris”), and its council members (“Raadslid”); it describes its management as a team of volunteers.[5]
How is the K.B.B.B. recognised?
World Boxing. World Boxing’s directory of federations lists the Royal Belgian Boxing Federation for Belgium as a Full Member in its Europe region,[1] and its December 2025 list of national federations with Full or Associate Membership status includes it.[2] World Boxing’s membership page states: “Endorsement is not full membership”, full membership being put forward to its Congress for approval.[3]
Other bodies. The federation’s home page links to World Boxing and to the EBU – European Boxing Union, and displays a row of logos that includes those of Sport Vlaanderen and ADEPS.[4]
What does the K.B.B.B. organise?
The federation’s site publishes results and an events calendar for amateur and professional boxing.[4] Its news item “Acht Belgen naar EK” (eight Belgians to the European championships) reported that Belgium was sending eight boxers, seven men and one woman, to the European championships in Sofia, which the site dates 15–26/09/2026.[4] Its menu also links a list headed “Kampioenen Pro”.[4]
Who are its members?
An image on the federation’s home page has the alt text “De drie liga’s in België die onder de K.B.B.B. vallen” (the three leagues in Belgium that fall under the K.B.B.B.), and the page links to the Vlaamse Boks Liga (VBL).[4] World Boxing’s directory gives a vlaamseboksliga.com email address for the federation’s World Boxing delegate.[1] Its site has a section listing clubs.[4]
