What is FR Box?
The Federația Română de Box (FR Box) is the national boxing federation of Romania. World Boxing lists it, as the Romanian Boxing Federation, as Romania’s member federation.[1] Its site groups its amateur-boxing work under national championships, Romanian cups, calendars, national teams and weight categories, and publishes a ranking of clubs.[3]
What does FR Box govern or do?
The federation selects the Romanian national teams (Loturi Naționale) and the squads it lists as Loturi CNOPT/CNOPJ; in August 2026 it reported a youth team leaving for the European Championships in Loznica, Serbia.[3] Its Biroul Federal includes the presidents of the central commissions for referees and for coaches.[4] It publishes national commissions, documents, forms and legislation, and a public-interest information page that links its statute.[3][5]
When was FR Box founded and where is it based?
The federation states: “Federația Română de Box a fost înființată în 1926”.[3] Its public-interest information page repeats the line and links a “Statut Federația Română de Box” and an identification sheet for 2025 (“Fisa de identificare FR Box 2025: Membri – Statistică teritorială”).[5] Its structure page names the Adunarea Generală as “organul legislativ suprem al Federației Române de Box, alcătuit din totalitatea membrilor”, and lists the Biroul Federal headed by its president.[4]
How is FR Box recognised?
World Boxing. World Boxing’s directory of federations lists the Romanian Boxing Federation for Romania as a Full Member in its Europe region.[1] World Boxing’s membership page states that endorsement by its Executive Board “is not full membership” and that full membership is then put forward to the Congress for approval.[2]
Leadership. The federation’s structure page lists Vasile Cîtea as president, with Bogdan Marinescu and Victor Leu as vice-presidents.[4]
What does FR Box organise?
The federation runs men’s and women’s national championships and Romanian cups (Cupe ale României).[3] Its 2026 calendar lists the national championship for U23 seniors in Constanța (19–23 October), and the national championships for youth and for seniors in Năvodari (7–13 December); the women’s national championships for cadets, juniors, youth and seniors were held in Eforie Nord on 1–7 September 2026, after a national children’s competition (U13) there in July and August.[3]
Who are its members?
The federation’s General Assembly is made up of all its members.[4] Its structure page lists the clubs, followed by the county boxing associations, each named “AJ de Box” with its county, such as the AJ de Box Buzău, and the municipal association of Bucharest (“AM de Box București”).[4] It publishes a 2025 ranking of clubs (Clasament Cluburi 2025).[3]
