What are the World Rugby Rankings?
The World Rugby Rankings are the official rankings of international rugby — every men's national team ranked since 2003, with parallel women's rankings — published at world.rugby and updated after each test window.[1]
How do they work?
A points-exchange system: the winner takes points from the loser, scaled by ranking gap, margin and home advantage, with World Cup matches weighted double — so every test result moves the ladder.[1] [2]
Why do they matter?
They seed and help qualify the Rugby World Cup and stand as the official, dated record of every nation's standing — international rugby's objective ladder.[1] [2]
