What is the Plivački savez Srbije?

The Plivački savez Srbije, the Serbian Swimming Federation, is the national body for swimming in Serbia. It describes itself as “самостална, добровољна, ванстраничка организација у области спорта” — an independent, voluntary, non-partisan organisation in the field of sport.[5] Serbia’s other aquatic disciplines have separate bodies: European Aquatics lists the Serbian Water Polo Federation, the Synchronised Swimming Federation of Serbia and the Serbian Diving Association alongside it.[1]

What does the Serbian Swimming Federation govern or do?

The federation’s site presents its work as covering competitive swimming in Serbia: national championships and other competitions, the national team, masters swimming, and the coaches, judges and clubs registered with it.[4] It carries a section for the national team, the reprezentacija, and its pages report the team’s medals at European championships and new national records.[4]

When was the Serbian Swimming Federation founded and where is it based?

European Aquatics gives 1904 as the year of the Serbian Swimming Federation’s foundation.[2] The federation gives its seat as Blagoja Parovića 150 in Belgrade, the address European Aquatics also lists for it.[5][2] Its administration is headed by Milena Nešković, whom the federation lists as administrative director and European Aquatics as managing director.[5][2]

How is the Serbian Swimming Federation recognised?

European Aquatics. European Aquatics’ directory of member federations lists four Serbian members, with the Serbian Swimming Federation listed first.[1] European Aquatics describes itself as the governing body for aquatic sports representing Europe, affiliated to World Aquatics, with 52 national aquatic federations affiliated as members.[3]

World Aquatics. The federation names European Aquatics and World Aquatics among the organisations of which it is a member, together with Serbia’s national sports union.[5]

What does the Serbian Swimming Federation organise?

The federation’s site carries the national championships of Serbia and other national and international competitions, together with development programmes.[4] Through the reprezentacija it fields the swimmers who represent Serbia at international events, and it runs a masters section for adult swimmers.[4]

Who are its members?

The federation states that it works through three regional associations: the Plivački savez Vojvodine in Novi Sad, the Plivački savez Beograda in Belgrade and the Plivački savez centralne Srbije in Kruševac.[5] Its club directory lists its member swimming clubs alphabetically in a single table, from ПК “Алигатор” onward, with the three regional associations named beneath it (October 2026).[6]
