What is Fedeciclismo?
The Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo, abbreviated Fedeciclismo in its statutes, is the national federation for cycling in Colombia. Article 2 of its statutes describes it as an “organismo deportivo de derecho privado, constituida como una asociación, sin ánimo de lucro” — a private-law sports body constituted as a non-profit association.[4] Its stated purpose, under article 7, is to “fomentar, patrocinar y organizar en el ámbito nacional la práctica del deporte del ciclismo” in all its modalities, paracycling among them.[4]
What does Fedeciclismo govern or do?
The federation’s site covers road, track, BMX racing, BMX freestyle, mountain bike and paracycling, with a section for women’s cycling.[3] It issues the annual federation licence, announcing that the platform for the Licencia Federativa 2026 was open, and it publishes a national ranking for 2026.[6][3] It enforces its rules on trade teams: on 17 June 2026 it announced, from Bogotá, that it had revoked the registration of the team CICLISMO POWER CYCLING and restated that federation rules are mandatory.[6] Its statutes describe official competitions as the national participations and sporting events that select and prepare athletes for regional teams.[4]
When was Fedeciclismo founded and where is it based?
Article 5 of the statutes states: “La sede y domicilio legal de La Federación es la ciudad de Bogotá D.C.”[4] The member list of the Confederación Panamericana de Ciclismo gives its address as Carrera 46 # 60-80, Barrio Nicolás de Federmán, Bogotá D.C.[2] The statutes in force were approved in Bogotá on 9 May 2022.[4] The executive committee elected for 2025–2029 is headed by Rubén Darío Galeano Berdugo as president, with two vice-presidents and four vocales.[5]
How is Fedeciclismo recognised?
Continental body. The Confederación Panamericana de Ciclismo lists Colombia in its South Zone, with federacioncolombianadeciclismo.com as the member’s website and [email protected] as its contact.[2]
International federation. The Union Cycliste Internationale states that it represents “the interests of 197 National Federations, five Continental Confederations”.[1] The Confederación Panamericana de Ciclismo describes itself as “an autonomous body comprising National Federations or Associations from the American continent, which are UCI members”.[7] The federation’s site shows the UCI and COPACI among its institutional partners.[3]
Olympic and state bodies. The same partners section shows the Comité Olímpico Colombiano, the Comité Paralímpico Colombiano and the Ministerio del Deporte.[3] Under articles 31 and 34 of the statutes, the Comité Olímpico Colombiano and COLDEPORTES are notified when the federation’s assemblies are convened and “tendrán derecho a voz”.[4]
What does Fedeciclismo organise?
The federation publishes the Calendario Nacional, presenting its 2026 edition and later announcing the withdrawal of the Circuito Ciclístico Ángel Miguel Sanabria from it.[6] Its news index carries the official route of the 2025 men’s Vuelta a Colombia, an item on the route of the 2024 edition, and the official route of the Tour Colombia UCI 2.1 of 2024, and a report on Valle del Cauca hosting the 42nd Vuelta del Porvenir and the 22nd Tour Femenino.[6] It also reported a UCI statement on Colombia’s organisation of the COPACI Congress and the 2026 Pan American road championships.[6]
Who are its members?
Under articles 9 and 10 of its statutes, the federation is constituted as an association of cycling leagues and/or multi-sport associations that include cycling; the minimum number of leagues and/or associations is set by COLDEPORTES, the national sports authority, by administrative act.[4] The executive committee serving the 2025–2029 period comprises a president, two vice-presidents and four vocales.[5] Individual riders take part through the annual Licencia Federativa, which the federation opened for 2026 through an online platform.[6]
