What is the ČSC?

The Český svaz cyklistiky (ČSC), the Czech Cycling Federation, is the national federation for cycling in Czechia. Article I of its statutes states that “ČESKÝ SVAZ CYKLISTIKY, z.s. je spolkem založeným na principu dobrovolnosti”, an association founded on the principle of voluntary membership.[4]

The European Cycling Union (UEC) lists it as the Czech Cycling Federation, with David Průša as president and Jaroslava Krakovičová as general secretary.[2]

What does the ČSC govern or do?

Under Article II of its statutes, its main activity is “vyjadřovat, prosazovat a chránit zájmy české cyklistiky”, to express, promote and protect the interests of Czech cycling.[4] The same article provides that it “zajišťuje, organizuje a řídí státní reprezentaci České republiky”, running the national teams, and that it organises national championships and nationwide competitions in all disciplines.[4] It also manages the training of coaches and commissaires, and delegates to its general assembly must hold a valid ČSC licence.[4]

When was the ČSC founded and where is it based?

The federation’s statutes in force were approved by its general assembly on 5 June 2024 (“byly schváleny valnou hromadou dne 5. června 2024”) and replace statutes dated 3 June 2021; they refer to registration with the Municipal Court in Prague.[4] Article I states: “ČSC sídlí na adrese: Nad Hliníkem 4/1186, Praha 5 - Motol”.[4] The UEC lists the same address.[2]

How is the ČSC recognised?

UCI and UEC. Article I of the statutes states that the ČSC “je členem mezinárodní cyklistické unie (UCI) a Evropské cyklistické unie (UEC)”.[4] The UEC lists Czechia (CZE) among its 51 affiliated European federations, describes itself as forming “a liaison between the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the national federations which it represents in this instance”, and states: “Every european federation member of the UCI is automatically member of the UEC.”[1] See the UCI.

Czech Olympic Committee. The same article states that it “je členem Českého olympijského výboru (ČOV) a České unie sportu (ČUS)”.[4]

What does the ČSC organise?

The federation’s site lists its national cup series: the ŠKODA CUP on road and track, the MND CUP on road, the JANEV CUP in cyclo-cross, Czech cups (ČP) in mountain bike, BMX, gravel and para-cycling, and the ŠKODA Extraliga in cycle-ball (kolová).[3] On 6 October 2026 it announced 12 Czech track riders for the world championships in China.[3]

Who are its members?

Article IV of the statutes sets out three kinds of membership: ordinary, associate and honorary.[4] The ordinary members are the regional federations (“krajské svazy”), which hold sporting authority in their regions.[4] Clubs and club sections are associate members: “Přidruženým členem jsou oddíly a kluby”, each belonging to an ordinary member.[4]
