What is the ČTS?

The Český tenisový svaz (ČTS) is the tennis federation of Czechia; its English-language page calls it the Czech Tennis Association and states that it is a member of national sports organisations and international tennis federations.[8] Its site, cesky-tenis.cz, offers match results, tournament draws, rankings (“Žebříčky”) and calendars through the federation’s app.[3] Under the heading “Mezinárodní organizace” it links to the ATP, the WTA, the ITF’s World Tennis site, Tennis Europe, the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup.[3]

What does the ČTS govern or do?

The ČTS site has a national-team section (“Reprezentace/Talent”) and carries a banner for the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup.[3] It lists team (“Družstva”) and individual (“Jednotlivci”) competitions by age category, from adults to younger pupils, keeps directories of clubs and referees, and has an information section of its sports-technical department (“Informace STÚ”) with a link for the Czech babytenis championship (“MČR babytenis”).[3]

When was the ČTS founded and where is it based?

The ČTS history page states that “V roce 1906 došlo k založení a ustanovení České lawn-tenisové asociace…” (in 1906 the Czech Lawn Tennis Association was founded and constituted).[4] It records that on 13 December 1918 supporters of the game founded the Czechoslovak Tennis Association, and that the first Czech lawn-tennis club (I. ČLTK Praha) was founded in 1893.[4] The federation’s address is Ostrov Štvanice 38, 170 00 Praha 7, and its company number (IČO) is 00538388.[6]

How is the ČTS recognised?

ITF. The draft minutes of the International Tennis Federation’s 2024 Conference and Annual General Meeting, held in Hong Kong, China, on 10–11 October 2024, list the “Czech Tennis Association” (CZE) among the Class B member associations in attendance; the ČTS uses the same English name on its own site.[2][8] The ITF’s 2026 membership and share register lists Czechia under “Class B Members with voting rights”.[1] The ČTS history page links the early growth of Czech tennis to the recognition of the 1906 Česká lawn-tenisová asociace by the international tennis association, without giving a year.[4]

What does the ČTS organise?

The ČTS publishes its mixed team competitions as “Soutěže smíšených družstev ČTS”.[7] For 2026 its adult national tier lists the 1. liga in four groups, with Houšťka, Liberec, Říčany and Zlín as venues, the 2. liga in four groups, and a 2. liga relegation play-off dated 28 June 2026.[7] Below them sit regional competitions for each of the eight regions, such as the Pražská divize and the Jihomoravská divize.[7]

Who are its members?

The ČTS lists eight regional associations: the Pražský, Středočeský, Jihočeský, Západočeský, Severočeský, Jihomoravský and Severomoravský tenisový svaz, and the Východočeský oblastní tenisový svaz, and gives contact details for each.[5] Its site carries a directory of clubs (“Adresáře”).[3]
