What is Tipsbladet?
Tipsbladet is a Danish football title. Its site gives the publisher as Tipsbladet ApS, Sankt Annæ Plads 28, 1250 København K, CVR 35 41 57 93, and names Kenneth Jensen as editor-in-chief. Its masthead line is “Besat af fodbold siden 1948”.[1]
Lex, the Danish national encyclopedia, describes it as “et medie, der siden 1948 har lavet journalistik om dansk og international fodbold”.[2]
Its owner since 2023 is Better Collective, which announced on 18 September 2023 that it had agreed to acquire Tipsbladet for 6.5 million euros on a cash- and debt-free basis, paid in three instalments, and that Tipsbladet.dk would become part of the group from 2 October 2023.[3] Lex gives the takeover date as 1 October 2023.[2] The two dates differ by a day and both are given here.
What does Tipsbladet cover?
Football, domestic first. The front page on 23 September 2026 led with Superliga material dated that day — a piece on AGF's run without a win, one on a Brøndby transfer decision, a live Superliga blog and a critique of artificial pitches in the league — alongside an interview about a Danish record transfer to Sporting CP and a team of the round for round 9.[1]
Those Superliga items concern the twelve-club 3F Superliga, run by Superligaen A/S.[4]
Lex describes the title's scope as Danish and international football, and records that it moved from a weekly paper to twice weekly and then, from January 2024, to online only: “Fra januar 2024 er det slut med papirudgaven af Tipsbladet, som derefter udelukkende vil eksistere som onlinemedie”. It dates the last printed issue to 26 January 2024: “26. januar udkom bladet for sidste gang”.[2]
Lex also connects the title with two football awards, Årets Spiller in the Superliga and Det Gyldne Bur, dating the latter to 1984.[2]
How large is Tipsbladet's audience?
No audited figure for the title was retrieved. The official Danish readership measurement for print is Index Danmark/Gallup: Danmarks Statistik describes its newspaper readership statistics as based on “de officielle, brancheanerkendte målinger fra Index Danmark/Gallup”, counting unique persons over 12 who have read a title for at least two minutes in a week.[5] Tipsbladet has been online only since January 2024, so a print readership series would not describe its current output.[2]
The only audience figure retrieved is the buyer's. Better Collective's announcement of 18 September 2023 states that the digital platform generates approximately 6.8 million monthly visits and has more than 110,000 social media followers. That is a company figure given at the time of a sale, without a named measuring body, and it is not audited measurement.[3]
Since when has Tipsbladet existed?
The title's own site gives 1948: “Besat af fodbold siden 1948”.[1] Lex, an independent reference, gives the same year and names Elwin Hansen as founder and owner from 1948 to 1974, and states that the paper was set up to “lære danskerne om tipning og tipssystemer”, that is, to teach Danes about the football pools.[2] Better Collective's announcement also gives 1948, and describes the title as the Nordic region's oldest football publication; that description is the buyer's, reported here as such.[3]
Lex sets out the ownership in steps: Elwin Hansen owned the paper until he sold it to Det Berlingske Hus in 1974; Carsten Andreasen and other investors later bought it from Det Berlingske Officin; and Better Collective took over on 1 October 2023.[2] The present publishing company, Tipsbladet ApS, is named on the site with its CVR number.[1] The Lex entry used for these dates is signed by Troels Søgård Henriksen and was last edited on 24 April 2026.[2]
Why does Tipsbladet matter in Denmark's sport?
It matters first because of its continuity: two independent accounts, Lex and the buyer's announcement, give 1948 for the title's start, and Lex traces its ownership through four owners to the present.[2][3]
It matters second because of its ownership. Since October 2023 a Danish football title has been owned by Better Collective, whose own announcement presents the purchase in commercial terms: its vice-president for Europe, Esben Skou Vinther, is quoted as saying that Tipsbladet “will become an even more attractive advertisement partner for businesses”.[3]
The link to betting is therefore not new: Lex gives the paper's original purpose as teaching Danes about football pools, and its owner since 2023 is Better Collective.[2]
It matters third because its output tracks the domestic league week by week, as its 23 September 2026 front page shows, with Superliga news, analysis, a live blog and a team of the round.[1][4]
