What is World's Strongest Man?
World's Strongest Man is strength sport's most famous competition — staged annually since 1977, televised worldwide, and the title by which strongmen are measured. Mitchell Hooper won the 2026 edition in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.[1] [2]
Why does it matter?
Because it is the sport, effectively: with no federation and no records, a WSM title is the credential — and its champions, from Kazmaier to Pudzianowski to Björnsson, are strongman's entire canon.[2] [3]
