What is the Esports World Cup?
The Esports World Cup is the largest multi-title event in esports — launched in Riyadh in 2024 by the Esports World Cup Foundation, with more than twenty games, a cross-title Club Championship rewarding organizations for performance across titles, and the biggest prize pool in the industry. The 2026 edition moved to Paris, the organizers citing the regional situation.[1] [2]
Why does it matter?
It is the closest thing esports has to an Olympics — one venue, many titles, national and club identities on show — and its Saudi funding has reshaped the industry's economics, a development the scene itself debates openly.[2] [3]
