What is the WDSF?

The World DanceSport Federation is the IOC-recognized international federation for competitive dance — governing ballroom and Latin DanceSport, para dance sport, and breaking, which it carried to Olympic debut at Paris 2024.[1] [2]

What does it govern?

Competition rules and judging systems (the Trivium for breaking, the WDSF judging system for DanceSport); world and continental championships; world rankings; and the athlete pathway — including the Olympic qualification series that ran for Paris 2024.[2] [3]

Why does it matter?

For dancers competing internationally, WDSF rankings and titles are the federation record — and its handling of breaking's Olympic chapter, including its public campaign for future reinstatement, is the sport's governing story.[3] [4]
