What is U.S. Ski & Snowboard?
U.S. Ski & Snowboard is the national governing body of American skiing and snowboarding — descended from the National Ski Association of 1905, headquartered at the Center of Excellence in Park City, Utah, and the FIS's U.S. member.[1]
What does it govern?
The U.S. teams across alpine, cross-country, ski jumping, nordic combined, freestyle, freeski and snowboard — named A/B/C squads published annually — plus national championships, club certification and athlete licensing into the FIS system. Its current era is defined by Mikaela Shiffrin's records and the buildup to Salt Lake City–Utah 2034.[1] [2]
Why does it matter?
Team nominations, national titles and FIS licences for American snow-sports athletes all run through the federation — the published credential chain from junior racing to the Olympic team.[1] [2]
