What is the Atlantic 10 Conference?
The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is one of the strongest non-football conferences in Division I, a basketball-first league of mostly private and urban universities across the eastern half of the country.[1] [2]
Members and sports
Members include Dayton, VCU, Saint Louis, George Washington, Richmond, St. Bonaventure and Fordham. The A-10 sponsors a broad championship program including swimming & diving, and regularly sends multiple teams to March Madness.[1]

Founded in 1975 and known as the Atlantic 10 since 1982; headquartered in Newport News, Virginia.[1]
Why does the Atlantic 10 Conference matter?
As a consistent multi-bid basketball league with national television coverage, the A-10 ranks at the top of Division I outside the football powers.[1] [2]
