TCS

What is TCS?

TCS is Telecorporación Salvadoreña, a television group. Its news site is TCS Ahora, at tcsahora.com, whose menu on 26 September 2026 ran from Nacionales and Deportes to Entretenimiento, Internacionales, Programación TV and Radios.^[1] The same site publishes the daily schedule of Canal 4, the channel through which the group shows football, and its articles name TCS Go as the application through which the group streams it.^[2][4][5]

A 2022 study in Minerva, the journal of the Universidad de El Salvador, maps the ownership of Salvadoran television. Its Table 1, titled “Estructura de poder mediático en la televisión salvadoreña 2014”, lists TCS under the column “Grupo Elite” as “Nacional Histórica (Eserski)”, with channels 2, 4, 6, 31 and 35, 28 per cent of the spectrum and 65.99 per cent of the audience in 2014. The table's source note cites the author's own earlier work and a 2015 study.^[7] That is the study's attribution for 2014. No ownership register or company filing was retrieved, and the group's corporate site did not resolve on 26 September 2026, so no more recent ownership statement is given here.

What does TCS cover?

The national team. TCS Ahora reported on 9 October 2025 that El Salvador's home football qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup against Panama on Friday 10 October and Guatemala on Tuesday 14 October “se podrán vivir en señal exclusiva a través de Canal 4 y TCS Go”, on an exclusive signal for users in El Salvador.^[4]

The domestic league. TCS Ahora keeps a page for the Primera División de Fútbol Profesional de El Salvador, with the standings of the Torneo Apertura 2026 and match reports; its most recent items on 26 September 2026 were dated up to 22 September.^[3] Canal 4's schedule for Saturday 26 September 2026 lists three matches under “Deportes”, among them “LMF - C.D. LUIS ÁNGEL FIRPO vs. C.D. ÁGUILA” from 5:30 to 8:00 in the evening.^[2]

World Cups. On 22 November 2022 TCS Ahora described Canal 4 as “el canal oficial en El Salvador para la transmisión de 44 partidos de la Copa Mundial”, the 2022 tournament, available on the open signal and on TCS Go.^[5] On 21 May 2026 it promoted the 2026 tournament in the words “Disfruta de los mejores partidos de la Copa del Mundo de la FIFA a partir del 11 de junio a través de Canal 4 y TCS GO”; the article gives no number of matches and names no rights agreement.^[6] That World Cup ended in July 2026.

International news. The site's sports items on 25 and 26 September 2026 included El Salvador's 3–1 win over Martinique and reports on the French and Italian national teams.^[1]

How large is TCS's audience?

No current audience figure for TCS or for its sport output was retrieved. The only measured reading found is in the 2022 Minerva study, which states that it drew on the database of “la empresa privada Rivera y Rivera Research, que realiza las mediciones de rating en radio y televisión nacional.”^[7]

The same study gives Megavisión 20.43 per cent on weekdays.^[7] Those are one week's readings for whole channel groups, eight years before 26 September 2026, and they measure no programme or sport.

The Minerva table for 2014 gives TCS 65.99 per cent of the audience in that year, a figure its source note attributes to earlier studies.^[7] No audited figure for tcsahora.com was retrieved.

Since when has TCS existed?

No founding date for Telecorporación Salvadoreña or for Canal 4 was retrieved from the group's own pages: the corporate site did not resolve on 26 September 2026, and TCS Ahora's pages that were read give no history.^[1]

The earliest dated record retrieved is the Minerva study's table for 2014, which already lists TCS with channels 2, 4, 6, 31 and 35 and describes it as “Nacional Histórica”.^[7] TCS Ahora's own dated items retrieved run from 22 November 2022, when it described Canal 4's coverage of that year's World Cup, to its schedule for 26 September 2026.^[5][2]

Why does TCS matter in El Salvador's sport?

By its own account, TCS held the exclusive Salvadoran signal for El Salvador's home World Cup qualifiers of October 2025 and was the official Salvadoran channel for 44 matches of the 2022 World Cup; both statements are the broadcaster's own and were not checked against a rights holder's record.^[4][5] Its Canal 4 schedule for 26 September 2026 carries domestic league football, and Diario El Mundo listed Canal 4 as the broadcaster of two matches of that weekend's round.^[2][8]

The one audience reading retrieved, for a single week in October 2018, gave TCS a 64.53 per cent weekday share of Salvadoran television, and the Minerva study attaches the name Eserski to the group in its 2014 table. Those are the study's figures and attribution.^[7]
