What is SuperSport (DigitAlb)?
SuperSport is the brand of the sport channels on DigitAlb, an Albanian pay-television platform. DigitAlb's own site describes a Premium package, from €29.9 a month, with “SuperSport me Ligat elitare të futbollit, Kombëtaren Kuq e Zi, Dardanët, e të gjitha sportet e tjera”, alongside a Family package from €9.9 a month and a third that its menu labels “Paketa Superiore(Superliga Shqiptare)”. It states that the service runs over OTT, satellite and terrestrial platforms.[1] This entry uses the platform's domain, digitalb.al: on 24 September 2026 the address supersport.al redirected to Top Channel's sport page.[2]
The regulator lists the operator. The Autoriteti i Mediave Audiovizive's list of audiovisual providers, dated 10 September 2026, gives Shoqeria “DigitALB” Sh.a. with a national licence.[3] Its ownership page for Digit-Alb sh.a., “sipas QKB”, lists direct shareholders including “LORESA” sh.p.k. with 30.07%, “About Time” sh.a. with 15.12%, “A.I.B.A Kompani” sh.a. with 10.52% and “Top Channel” sh.a. with 3.20%, and individual holders including Itan Hoxha with 8.56%, Alba Gina with 8% and Redia Hoxha with 4.19%. It gives Sara Hoxha and Lorela Hoxha as beneficial owners with 30.07% each, held indirectly.[4]
What does SuperSport (DigitAlb) cover?
The documented rights are in club football. Shqiptarja.com reported on 22 July 2024, under the headline “Digitalb bashkon Shqipërinë e Kosovën, Premier League për katër sezone në SuperSport”, that DigitAlb would carry the Premier League for four seasons, to 2028.[5] That rests on one press report; no statement by the rights holder was retrieved.
For the 2026–27 season, a Top Channel article of 31 August 2026 lists competitions on DigitAlb. The leagues named include the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the Eredivisie, the Turkish Super League and Abissnet Superiore. The cups include the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, the FA Cup, Coppa Italia, Copa del Rey, DFB-Pokal and Coupe de France. The other sports named are Formula 1, MotoGP, the NBA, Wimbledon, UFC and boxing. It states that these are “të gjitha pjesë e një programacioni që i jep DigitAlb një nga sezonet sportive më të pasura”. It lists the Champions League among them.[6] The article appears on the site of a company that holds a stake in DigitAlb, as §1 records, and its list is not a statement of the rights holders; channel numbers are not given.
DigitAlb also carries sport channels of other broadcasters: TV Klan stated on 9 June 2026 that Klan Sport 1 and Klan Sport 2 were available on DigitAlb and on Tring.[7]
How large is SuperSport (DigitAlb)'s audience?
No subscriber count for DigitAlb and no audited audience figure for the SuperSport channels could be retrieved. DigitAlb's own site publishes prices and packages, not subscriber numbers.[1]
The Media Pluralism Monitor 2026 for Albania states: “Although work with industry has begun to establish an audience-measurement tool for television, Albania still lacks an official and transparent mechanism.”[8] That is a statement about the whole market and applies here.
DigitAlb states that a Premium subscription allows up to three screens at once, one television and two mobile devices, and that new users are offered a five-day free trial.[1] Those are commercial terms and are given only as the platform publishes them.
Since when has SuperSport (DigitAlb) existed?
No launch date for DigitAlb or for the SuperSport channels could be retrieved from the platform's own pages or from the regulator. The Media Ownership Monitor Albania, in its entry for Top Channel, states that “In 2004 Hoxha launched the pay-per-view platform DigitAlb”, and in the same entry that “in 2004 it started transmitting in Europe through the pay per view platform DigitAlb, also founded by Hoxha.” That is the monitor's account, not the platform's own.[9]
The dated evidence in the sources read runs from 22 July 2024, when the Premier League agreement to 2028 was reported, to 31 August 2026, when the season's list of competitions was published.[5][6] The regulator's list of 10 September 2026 gives the operating company's licence.[3] The web address supersport.al redirected to Top Channel's sport page on 24 September 2026; when that redirection began was not found.[2]
Why does SuperSport (DigitAlb) matter in Albania's sport?
It carries foreign club football in Albania. The Premier League is reported as carried by DigitAlb in Albania and Kosovo until 2028, and the 2026–27 list published on 31 August 2026 includes the top leagues of England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France and the three UEFA club competitions.[5][6]
Its ownership links it to a free-to-air broadcaster. The regulator lists “Top Channel” sh.a. and several members of the Hoxha family among Digit-Alb's direct shareholders, and Alba Gina, a 40% owner of TV Klan, with 8%.[4] The Media Pluralism Monitor 2026 states that “The Albanian media market is dominated by a small number of media groups with cross-ownership across television, radio and digital media.”[8] Those are the monitor's words.
