What is Sportnet.hr?
Sportnet.hr is a Croatian sports portal with a moderated discussion forum attached. Its impressum names the publisher as “SUPER SPORT d.o.o.” of “Krčka ulica 18/d, 10000 Zagreb”, tax number HR48471634697, registered at the Commercial Court in Zagreb under number 080352592, with Radim Haluza, Goran Đurić and Branko Trifković named in management roles and Jura Horvat as “glavni urednik”.[1]
The terms of use, adopted “u Zagrebu 01. ožujka 2026”, repeat that “SUPER SPORT d.o.o. Zagreb, Krčka 18/d, OIB: 48471634697” owns and operates the portal, and set out the rules of the Sportnet Klub forum: registered members open topics and comment, moderators and administrators enforce the rules and may impose sanctions, and accounts inactive for more than five years may be deleted.[2]
The publisher's name is also the name carried by Croatia's top football competition, the SuperSport HNL, which the portal lists as one of its own sections.[3] That relationship is stated here because it stands in the outlet's own impressum and in the competition's own name; no inference is drawn from it.
What does Sportnet.hr cover?
The portal's navigation sets out its sections as Originalno, SuperSport HNL, Nogomet, MMA, Košarka, Odbojka and Ostalo — original features, the domestic football league, football, mixed martial arts, basketball, volleyball and other sports — alongside a forum, games, an article archive, a forum search and a statistics section.[3]
Its own description of itself is that it carries “the latest sports news, live results, analysis and interviews from Croatian and world sports”; that is the site's own wording.[3] The forum is a distinct part of the offering rather than a comment thread: the terms of use treat the Sportnet Klub as a membership space with its own moderation regime.[2]
How large is Sportnet.hr's audience?
No audited audience figure for Sportnet.hr could be retrieved for this page. The currency in which such a figure would be expressed is recent: the Hrvatska udruga digitalnih izdavača announced on 15 July 2024 that it had selected Ipsos's DotMetrics, after a tender, as the provider of standardised web traffic measurement for Croatian portals, under an agreement effective from 1 January 2025 for an initial two-year term.[4] Traffic estimators are not audited measurement and none is reproduced here.
On the market the portal sits in, the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom's Media Pluralism Monitor for Croatia, 2026 edition, scores Market Plurality at 60 per cent and finds that “market concentration remained extremely high in audiovisual markets and largely unmonitored in digital advertising and online news distribution”; its overall score for Croatia is 53 per cent.[5]
Since when has Sportnet.hr existed?
No founding date for the portal is printed in its impressum, and none is stated here.[1] The impressum does give the publisher's registration at the Commercial Court in Zagreb under number 080352592, without a date of entry.[1]
The most recent dated instrument the site publishes about itself is its terms of use, adopted in Zagreb on 1 March 2026, which confirm SUPER SPORT d.o.o. as owner and operator of the portal at that date.[2] Publication start, company incorporation and the adoption of terms are three different dates; only the last of them could be established for this page.
Why does Sportnet.hr matter in Croatia's sport?
It is a national multi-sport title rather than a single-sport site, with sections running from the domestic football league to volleyball and mixed martial arts, and it carries a long-running discussion forum with its own membership rules.[2][3]
The fact worth stating plainly is the identity of its publisher. The terms of use of 1 March 2026 state that “Sportnet je u vlasništvu SUPER SPORT d.o.o. Zagreb, Krčka 18/d, OIB: 48471634697” — Sportnet is owned by SUPER SPORT d.o.o. — and the impressum names the same company as publisher.[1][2] That is the same name carried by Croatia's top football competition, which the portal lists among its own sections.[3] Ownership statements date quickly, and this one is anchored to those two documents.
How to read that is a matter on which monitoring bodies, not this page, have published. The Euromedia Ownership Monitor's Croatia report, 2025 edition, reports that “watchdogs such as Gong (2024) warned that hidden ownership remains a serious risk”, and records that “ownership records are often incomplete or outdated, particularly for large corporate groups, and they seldom reveal the actual balance of power behind media companies”.[6] The Media Pluralism Monitor for Croatia, 2026 edition, notes the April 2025 launch of a Media Ownership and Financing Database as having “improved accessibility to ownership structures and financial flows.”[5]
