What is SigmaLive?
SigmaLive is a Cypriot general news website. Its own footer, retrieved on 23 September 2026, describes it as “Part of Dias Group of Companies” and carries the line “© 2026 Powered By SigmaLive, Part of Dias Group of Companies”, with development credited to P.C Admin 22 Limited.[1] That is the site's own statement of its ownership and is reported here as such.
The site carries news sections for Cyprus, Greece, international affairs, politics, economy, energy, environment and technology, and lifestyle sections alongside them; its sport is carried under a separate brand, Sportime.[1] The television channel of the same group, ΣΙΓΜΑ, is one of the channels that appear in the published tables of the country's television audience measurement company.[3]
What does SigmaLive cover?
Its Sportime platform is divided into Cypriot football, Greek football, English football, Spanish football, international football, basketball and other sports.[1] The division is by competition territory rather than by sport, which puts the Cypriot league in the same platform as the foreign leagues carried alongside it.
Alongside sport the site runs the general news categories listed above, so its sports output sits inside a general title rather than in a standalone sports publication.[1] Within Sportime the balance is weighted to football: five of the platform's seven listed sections are football sections, one is basketball and one is a residual heading for other sports.[1]
The site's lifestyle, city and economy sections sit alongside the news desks, and the sports platform is reached under its own brand rather than as a sub-heading of news, which is how the group separates its sports output from the general title.[1]
How large is SigmaLive's audience?
No audited figure for the website could be retrieved. The recognised currency in the market measures television, not websites: AGB (Cyprus) Ltd states that it has produced television audience measurement data in Cyprus since September 1997, with first official data on 1 January 1998, from a panel of about 450 households carrying 981 people meters and covering 1,349 persons aged 4 and over across five districts against a universe of 699,350, and it names SIGMA among its subscribers alongside ANT1, MEGA and CyBC.[2]
The company's published night-news table, as retrieved on 23 September 2026, covers the week of 25 to 31 December 2023, lists ΣΙΓΜΑ among six measured channels and prints seven separate days rather than a combined period, giving an average-minute rating and a share for each channel against the population aged 4 and over.[3] Those are daily readings for a television channel and are not a measurement of the website. Traffic estimators are not audited measurement and no figure from one is given here.
Since when has SigmaLive existed?
The site publishes no founding year and no company registration details; its copyright line carries only the current year.[1] No founding date is asserted here on that basis, and none was retrieved from a second source.
What is dated is the regulatory setting the group's broadcasting sits in. The broadcasting regulator is the Αρχή Ραδιοτηλεόρασης & Ψηφιακών Υπηρεσιών, which publishes a Κατάλογος Εποπτευόμενων and a Μητρώο Παρόχων; neither register could be retrieved as a list for this page.[4]
Nor is the ownership record public in a way that would settle such a date. The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom records that between July 2023 and December 2025 there were “26 significant shareholding and ownership changes in radio and television, complete unknown to the public”, and that authorities had “published no information whatever” about them despite regulatory obligations.[5]
Why does SigmaLive matter in Cyprus's sport?
It is the online arm of a group whose television channel is inside the measured set. ΣΙΓΜΑ appears in AGB's published channel table and SIGMA is named among AGB's subscribers, which places the group inside the market's audited television measurement even though the website itself is not measured.[2][3]
On the market's structure, the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom's Media Pluralism Monitor for Cyprus, 2026 edition, scores Market Plurality at 91 per cent and states that “there is a high concentration in the market share of service providers in the audio-visual and the press, which is affecting plurality of information resources”, and that between July 2023 and December 2025 there were “26 significant shareholding and ownership changes in radio and television, complete unknown to the public”.[5] Reporters Without Borders places Cyprus 80th of 180 in its 2026 Press Freedom Index with a score of 56.91.[6] Both are given as published.
