What is RPC?

RPC is a television channel of Corporación Medcom Panamá, S.A. The footer of its sports site, rpctv.com, reads: “RPC es un canal de MEDCOM Panamá | Copyright © 2026. Todos los derechos reservados”.[1] Medcom's own site lists RPC among its television platforms with Telemetro, Oye, ECO, COS and ÚNICOS, and RPC Radio among its radio stations.[6]

The site describes itself: “Encuentra las últimas noticias, videos, resultados en vivo de los deportes más importantes: fútbol, Béisbol, NFL, NBA, MLB, Boxeo, F1 y más en RPCTV.” That is the outlet's own description. Its menu lists Fútbol, Béisbol, Boxeo, Baloncesto, Otros Deportes and Programas, covering football, baseball, boxing and basketball.[1]

Medcom's history states: “En 1995 RPC TV y Telemetro inician conversaciones con el interés de unir fuerzas y toman la decisión estratégica de realizar una fusión. A partir de 1997, se unen bajo una sola razón social: Corporación Medcom Panamá, S.A.”[5] No shareholder register for the company was retrieved.

What does RPC cover?

As retrieved on 26 September 2026, the home page of rpctv.com led with items on Kylian Mbappé's injury; New Zealand as Panama's next opponent; CONCACAF Nations League results for El Salvador, Jamaica against Guatemala and Suriname against Honduras; a late goal for Árabe Unido in the Liga Panameña de Fútbol; the coach Thomas Christiansen's assessment of the draw with India; and live coverage of that friendly.[1]

Domestic football. Its LPF section carried “LPF: Resultados de la jornada 9 del Apertura 2026” and “LPF: Partidos para la jornada 10 del Apertura 2026”, with a preview of the matchday 10 fixture Deportivo Árabe Unido against Herrera FC.[2]

National team. On 25 September 2026 it reported Panama's 1–1 draw with India at the Sree Kanteerava in Bangalore, the first friendly of the Asian tour, with goals by Ryan Williams for India in the 41st minute and Omar Valencia for Panama in the 68th.[8] The same day it published the details of Panama's friendly against New Zealand at the Estadio Internacional de Yokohama on Thursday 1 October 2026, a match not yet played on 26 September, and stated that it would be shown “En vivo por la señal de RPC Deportes y el YouTube de RPC Deportes”.[4]

World Cup. On 17 June 2026 it published the details of Ghana against Panama at the FIFA World Cup, dated “Miércoles, 17 de junio de 2026”, at 6:00 p.m. at the Estadio Toronto, and stated that the match would be shown “En vivo por la señal de RPC Televisión”.[3]

How large is RPC's audience?

Kantar IBOPE Media's monthly programme rankings for Panama are published on centrotv.org, with a household rating and a count of individuals for each programme. No figure for RPC as a channel, and no audited traffic figure for rpctv.com, was retrieved.[7]

June 2026. In the table for 1 to 30 June 2026, RPC's broadcast of the World Cup match Ghana v Panama is second, at a 17.71 household rating and 234,010 individuals. Its broadcast of Argentina v Algeria is seventh, at 15.44, and of Panama v Croatia eighth, at 15.34 and 208,060 individuals. The table's first row is channel TM's CALLE 7 FINAL, at 19.54.[7]

July 2026. In the table for July 2026, RPC's broadcasts of the World Cup matches listed as FUT COPA MUNDIAL ESP VS ARG-S, POR VS CRO and POR VS ESP are third, fourth and fifth, at 15.41, 15.01 and 14.74. The first row is TM's LEYLA, at 15.69.[7]

Those are one month's readings, for programmes, not channel shares.

Since when has RPC existed?

Those dates, and the description of 1960 as the start of Panamanian television, are the company's own account; no second source for them was retrieved. The same history records the merger of RPC TV and Telemetro under Corporación Medcom Panamá, S.A. from 1997.[5]

Why does RPC matter in Panama's sport?

RPC carried Panama's matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and its broadcast of Ghana v Panama is the second row of Kantar IBOPE Media's June 2026 table, above the TVMAX, TM and TVN rows for the same match.[7][3]

It keeps a section for the domestic football league, which on 26 September 2026 carried the Apertura 2026 results of matchday 9 and fixtures of matchday 10, and it announced its own carriage of Panama's friendly in Yokohama on 1 October 2026.[2][4]

Its sister channels Telemetro and COS belong to the same company, by Medcom's account.[6]
