What is Panorama Sport?
Panorama Sport is a daily sports newspaper in Albania. The Media Ownership Monitor Albania, in its entry for the daily Panorama, states that “the Panorama Group publishes also the daily sport paper ‘Panorama Sport’ and the magazine ‘Psikologjia.’”[1] Its web edition sits on a path of the group's news domain, panorama.com.al/sport, under the page title “Panorama Sport | Lajmet e fundit nga sporti”.[2]
The print paper was still appearing on the build date. When retrieved on 24 September 2026, the web edition's first item invited readers to “Lexoni faqen e parë të gazetës ‘Panorama Sport’, ‘Panorama’ dhe ‘Gazeta Shqiptare’”.[2]
The Media Ownership Monitor records the owners of the daily Panorama as “the children of the businessman Irfan Hysenbelliu, Fabiola (50%) and Fatmir Hysenbelliu (50%)”, through Panorama Group JSC.[1] It records Gazeta Shqiptare as owned by Focus Press LLC, whose sole shareholder, Focus Group LLC, is “owned wholly by Hysenbelliu Family”.[3] The monitor's overview of the media market names a distributor belonging “to Focus Group, publisher of the daily newspapers Panorama, Panorama Sport and Gazeta Shqiptare”; its entries and its overview name different companies, and neither is adopted here.[9] The monitor's data are from 2023; no later ownership record was retrieved, and print titles do not appear on the audiovisual regulator's register.
What does Panorama Sport cover?
On 24 September 2026 the web edition carried items on the Bundesliga, on a La Liga coaching appointment, on the race for the Ballon d'Or, on 90 years since the founding of Albania's national team, and on the recall of Etrit Berisha to the national team.[2]
It also covers sport policy. On 6 February 2020 it published the text of proposed amendments under the headline “LIGJI ‘PËR SPORTIN’/ Shtesat dhe ndryshimet në paketën e re ligjore”, opening: “Në ligjin nr. 79/2017, ‘Për sportin’, bëhen këto ndryshime dhe shtesa”. The piece also reported changes proposed to the law of 21 December 1994 on sponsorship.[4] That package was put to public consultation by the Ministry of Education from 24 January to 13 February 2020; the consultation page summarises the draft as defining a fan card as a contract setting rights and obligations between sports organisations and their supporters, as exempting sponsorships in sports materials from customs duties and value-added tax, and as adjusting the distribution of audiovisual broadcasting revenue. The law was amended by Law No. 105/2020 of 29 July 2020.[5][6]
How large is Panorama Sport's audience?
No circulation or readership figure for Panorama Sport itself could be retrieved, and no audited readership survey or web audit for Albania was found.
For the sister daily, the Media Ownership Monitor Albania states that Panorama “still continues to have the highest circulation in the Albanian market with an average daily readership of 5,100 copies during 2023”. That is the monitor's statement and its characterisation, not an audited figure, and it concerns Panorama, not Panorama Sport.[1]
The wider evidence is about the market's structure rather than its audience. Reporters Without Borders states that “While there are hundreds of online media outlets in the country, only a small number have a sustainable business model with transparent funding.”[7] The Media Pluralism Monitor 2026 states: “The Albanian media market is dominated by a small number of media groups with cross-ownership across television, radio and digital media.”[8]
Since when has Panorama Sport existed?
No founding date for Panorama Sport could be retrieved from the paper or from the monitoring bodies, and none is given here.
For the group's main daily, the Media Ownership Monitor records: “The newspaper started publication in September 2002”.[1] For Gazeta Shqiptare, whose front page the web edition carries alongside Panorama Sport's, it records: “It started publication on 22 April 1993 and was established by the Italian company Edisud LLC.”[3] Those dates belong to the sister titles.
The earliest dated piece in the sources read is the web edition's report of 6 February 2020 on the amendments to the sports law, and the most recent is the page as retrieved on 24 September 2026.[4][2]
Why does Panorama Sport matter in Albania's sport?
It is a daily sports title in print as of September 2026. The web edition's front-page item of 24 September 2026 shows the paper appearing alongside two general dailies from the same owners.[2]
Its owners hold other print titles. The Media Ownership Monitor records the Hysenbelliu family behind both the Panorama Group and Gazeta Shqiptare.[1][3] Reporters Without Borders states that “The ownership of much of the Albanian media landscape is concentrated in the hands of just four or five companies”, and that “State funding represents a major source of revenue for the media, but its opaque and discriminatory distribution raises suspicions of influence peddling.”[7] Those are RSF's words, about the market as a whole.
