What is No Laying Up?
No Laying Up is an independent golf media company that began in 2014 as a podcast among college friends: Chris Solomon (“Soly”), Neil Schuster and Todd Schuster (“Tron Carter”) with Phil Landes (“Big Randy”), and D.J. Piehowski as executive producer. It is published through its own company, Pro Traj Holdings, and funded by sponsorship and its membership programme, The Nest.[1] [2] [3]
What does it cover?
Men’s and women’s professional golf — the PGA Tour, LPGA and the majors — in a near-daily podcast in season (episodes 1,199 to 1,203 between 19 August and early September 2026), the Trap Draw podcast, and video series such as Tourist Sauce and Strapped, with merchandise, travel and live events around it.[1] [2] [3]
What is its reach and standing?
A Links Magazine profile put its audience at 500,000-plus podcast listeners, with 391,000 followers on X, 182,000 on Instagram and 109,000 on YouTube — undated, and not audited; Apple lists 1,200-plus episodes and 6,670 ratings. Access is the standing: long-form interviews with Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jon Rahm are on the record.[3] [4] [5]
Since when?
Why does it matter in golf?
Because it is a large golf outlet that is neither a tour’s nor a broadcaster’s, and it has kept that independence while getting the players in the room. In a sport whose press is closely tied to rights-holders, that is a distinct kind of standing.[1] [5]
