What is Mosaïque FM?
Mosaïque FM (إذاعة موزاييك) is a private radio station. HAICA, the Haute Autorité Indépendante de la Communication Audiovisuelle, lists it among the sixteen private radio stations on its register page.[1]
HAICA's page for the station gives its company as “الشركة المتوسطية للإعلام والاتصالات”, a company whose name translates as Mediterranean Media and Communications Company; its broadcasting centre as “مدينة تونس”, the city of Tunis; and its broadcasting area as “كامل تراب الجمهورية”, the whole territory of the Republic. It gives the station's contact addresses on the domain mosaiquefm.net.[2]
HAICA's page names the company but not its shareholders, and no shareholder register was retrieved, so no statement is made here about who owns the company.
What does Mosaïque FM cover?
The station publishes a sport section on a path of its site. Its page title reads: “Actualite Sport Tunisie, football, championnat, ligue 1, handball, basket ball, tennis, natation”. Its description reads: “Toute l'actualité sportive en Tunisie et dans le monde entier sur notre site : Championnats, coupes, matchs, classements…”.[3] The section's article list could not be read, so no individual items are reported.
The page title names, in that order, football and its championship and Ligue 1, then handball, basketball, tennis and swimming.[3] The Fédération Tunisienne de Football's calendar for 2025–2026 names the top division “بطولة الرابطة المحترفة الأولى”, the Ligue Professionnelle 1.[7]
No broadcast-rights agreement between the station and a league or federation was retrieved, and no statement is made here about match commentary rights.
How large is Mosaïque FM's audience?
Radio audiences in Tunisia are surveyed by SIGMA Conseil, which describes its radio measurement as “enquêtes quotidiennes sur l'écoute de la veille auprès des individus représentant les différentes classes d'âge”, daily surveys of the previous day's listening, run over four weeks a month across the national territory.[9] Its own reports of the figures were not retrieved, so the figures here are as the trade press reported them.
June 2025. That is, a daily reach of 12.6 per cent, about 1,265,000 listeners a day. The same article gives Zitouna FM 5 per cent and Jawhara FM 4 per cent, and names Diwan FM at 3.9 per cent and Radio Nationale at 3.6 per cent.[4] The domination in the first sentence is the trade title's word, not a finding here.
2014 report. Agence Ecofin reported on 6 January 2014, from Sigma Conseil: “Mosaïque Fm arrive en tête du classement, avec 27,5% d'écoute quotidienne sur l'ensemble du territoire national.” It named Shems FM at 13.1 per cent, Zitouna FM at 9.5 per cent and Jawhara FM at 8.1 per cent nationally.[5]
The two readings were published eleven years apart and are reported by different titles; they are not presented here as a trend. No audited traffic figure for mosaiquefm.net was retrieved.
Since when has Mosaïque FM existed?
No founding or first-broadcast date for the station was retrieved from HAICA, whose station page carries no date field, or from the station's own pages that could be read.[2]
The earliest dated record of the station among the sources retrieved is Agence Ecofin's report of 6 January 2014 on Sigma Conseil's radio figures.[5] The Media Ownership Monitor for Tunisia, published in 2016 by Reporters Without Borders and Al Khatt, lists Mosaïque FM among the fourteen radio stations it analysed.[6]
Why does Mosaïque FM matter in Tunisia's sport?
HAICA gives its broadcasting area as the whole territory of the Republic, and it carries a sport section naming football, handball, basketball, tennis and swimming.[2][3] In SIGMA Conseil's June 2025 figures, as Pros de la Com reported them, its daily reach of 12.6 per cent was the highest figure the article gave for any station.[4]
Reporters Without Borders, in its 2026 entry for Tunisia, writes: “Radio comes next, with Mosaïque FM as the leading station.” RSF's sentence follows its statement that television is the most popular medium in Tunisia.[8] In the same entry RSF describes the economic context: “The media depends on private sector advertisers, including some who have shares in the media and ties with political figures — a situation that undermines editorial independence.”[8] Those are RSF's characterisations.
