What is the IJF World Ranking?

The International Judo Federation's official world ranking list, calculated from points awarded by event grade — Olympic Games, world championships, Masters, Grand Slam, Grand Prix, continental events — on a rolling window with decay.[1]

What does it cover?

Every Olympic weight category, men and women, plus separate junior, cadet and veteran lists.[1] [2]

Why does it matter?

Because judo's Olympic qualification is a ranking exercise with strict per-country limits, and the IJF list is the instrument that decides it — so a ranking position is directly a statement about access to the Games.[1] [2]
