What is Gazzetta?
Gazzetta is a Greek sport news website published at gazzetta.gr. Its terms of use name the operating company: “Η εταιρία Liquid Publishing SA (η «εταιρία»), με έδρα στη διεύθυνση Λεωφόρος Μεσογείων 493, Αγία Παρασκευή, Αθήνα, Ελλάδα προσφέρει τις υπηρεσίες της μέσω του παρόντος δικτυακού τόπου, www.gazzetta.gr”. The terms as retrieved give no tax or company-register number and no date of last revision.[3]
The site's about page lists its editorial staff under the heading “Η δημοσιογραφική ομάδα του Gazzetta”. It names Δημήτρης Κωνσταντινίδης as Διευθυντής and four Αρχισυντάκτες, and groups the remaining journalists by desk: football, basketball, international sport and sport, with separate lists of bloggers and of the staff of its GWOMAN, GMOTION and PLUS sections. The page ends with the line “Copyright © 2008 - 2026 Gazzetta”.[2]
No record of the company's ownership from a regulator, a register or a monitoring body could be retrieved, so the terms of use are the only source here for the operator's name, and they say nothing about who owns Liquid Publishing SA.
What does Gazzetta cover?
On 24 September 2026 the home page led with EuroLeague basketball: Panathinaikos's home game against Paris, a preview of Olympiacos's opening game in Vitoria and a feature on players with NBA experience in this season's competition. It also carried an item on what each finishing position in the UEFA Nations League group would mean for the national football team and, from 23 September, items on the under-21 national team and on AEK and PAOK in the Stoiximan Super League.[1]
Its navigation lists football, basketball, volleyball and other sports, with sections for sports broadcasts, a live-score service, the front pages of the sports newspapers, programmes and podcasts.[1] The other-sports section is divided into tennis, handball, water polo, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, beach volleyball, sailing, rowing, fencing, shooting, wrestling, taekwondo, judo, table tennis, combat sports, boxing and weightlifting.[4] The volleyball section lists the Novibet Volley League, the women's Volley League, the Pre League, the men's and women's cups and three European club competitions; on 22 and 23 September 2026 it carried interviews with national-team players, Panathinaikos's CEV Champions League schedule and the programme of the Konstantinos Karelias tournament.[5]
The about page describes the site's coverage as including reporters for all the big teams in football and basketball, “πλήρη κάλυψη για όλα τα «μικρά σπορ»”, the newspapers' front pages and news about the media, and says that through “gazzetta plus” it also reports political, social and economic news.[2] That is the site's description of itself.
The home page also carried links to betting operators, among them bet365, Stoiximan, Novibet, Elabet, Interwetten and Allwyn.[1]
How large is Gazzetta's audience?
No audited figure for traffic to gazzetta.gr could be retrieved. Traffic estimators are not audited measurement, and none is used here.
The audience tables published in Greece under the name Nielsen Audience Measurement are television tables: the weekly channel shares for 31 August to 13 September 2026 list ten television channels and assign the remainder to other stations and to video and DVD viewing. They carry no figure for any website.[6]
The about page states the aim the site set itself at launch, to become “Το σημείο αναφοράς για χιλιάδες αναγνώστες καθημερινά”, and speaks of the trust its readers show every day; it gives no figure.[2] Those are the site's own statements, and no measurement was retrieved that tests them.
Since when has Gazzetta existed?
The about page dates the site to the summer of 2008: “Το καλοκαίρι του 2008 ακούστηκε το... πρώτο κλάμα! Το gazzetta.gr ήρθε στην ιντερνετική πραγματικότητα με ένα ξεκάθαρο στόχο!” Its copyright line runs from 2008 to 2026.[2] That is the site's own account of its launch, and no independent source for the date was retrieved.
The terms of use name Liquid Publishing SA as the operator without a date, so the date from which that company has operated the site could not be established.[3]
Why does Gazzetta matter in Greece's sport?
The about page describes the site as “το πρώτο αθλητικό (και όχι μόνο) brand σε όλη την Ελλάδα” and as “η κορυφαία αθλητική ιστοσελίδα”.[2] Those are the site's claims about itself; no audience measurement retrieved tests them, and they are not adopted here.
What can be documented is the range of its coverage on the build date: club basketball in the EuroLeague, the national football team, the top football division, which its section labels give under the sponsor name Stoiximan Super League, and volleyball, where it uses the sponsor name Novibet Volley League, alongside the sports of its other-sports section.[1][4][5] The about page lists a newsroom of reporters, desk editors and bloggers, which is the site's own statement of its staff.[2]
