What is FilGoal?
FilGoal (في الجول) is an Arabic-language Egyptian sports website published at filgoal.com. Its own pages carry the strapline "الموقع الرياضى الرائد فى مصر و الوطن العربى" — the leading sports site in Egypt and the Arab world — and its own site description opens "Filgoal أشهر وأسرع موقع رياضي مصري وعربي". Both are the outlet's descriptions of itself.[1]
No ownership or publisher statement could be retrieved from the site. The footer carries only a copyright line reading "© 2026 فى الجول دوت كوم" and a reference to an unnamed managing and developing entity.[1]
The outlet is a digital-only title: no print edition and no broadcast licence associated with it could be retrieved. That distinguishes it from the Cairo press houses, whose sports titles sit inside general publishing groups, and from the state broadcast structure that Media Ownership Monitor Egypt describes as resting on the National Media Authority, created under Law No. 178 of 2018 as successor to the Egyptian Radio and Television Union.[5]
What does FilGoal cover?
The site's own description of its coverage lists Egyptian league football and the clubs Al Ahly, Zamalek and Ismaily; the English, German, Italian, Spanish and French leagues; and the Africa Cup of Nations, the European Championship and the Asian Cup, together with results, statistics, photographs and news.[1]
That is a football-weighted list, but the description also claims coverage of "كافة الأحداث الرياضية" — all sporting events — which is the outlet's own characterisation of its scope rather than a measured one.[1] What a single day's front page carries is not evidence of an outlet's standing coverage, so no sample is given here.
That stated list is what gives the title a claim to national rather than single-club standing: it carries the Egyptian league alongside the continental and European competitions Egyptian clubs and the national team enter, rather than the affairs of one club.[1]
The domestic competitions it names are the ones whose recorded outcomes are dated elsewhere: the Egyptian Premier League title confirmed the day before Ahram Online's report of 21 May 2026[2] and CAF's own record of Al Ahly's twelfth continental title in May 2024.[3]
How large is FilGoal's audience?
No audited audience figure for FilGoal could be retrieved. Egypt has no audited digital-audience currency whose figures could be obtained for this page.
Traffic estimators such as Similarweb are not audited measurement and are not presented here as though they were. The Media Ownership Monitor Egypt project, which profiles Egyptian print, television, radio and online outlets, gives no audited audience figures for the outlets it covers and relies on survey data for category-level consumption.[4]
The outlet's own strapline asserts a position in the Egyptian and Arab market. That is a claim the site makes about itself and no figure supporting it could be retrieved.[1]
Nor is there a category figure that would stand in for one. The monitoring project reports survey estimates of how Egyptians get news rather than outlet-level digital measurement, and a survey of news consumption is not a measurement of a website.[4]
Since when has FilGoal existed?
No founding date is stated on the outlet's own site. The only year carried on its pages is the copyright line, which reads "© 2026 فى الجول دوت كوم" and carries the current year; a copyright year is not a founding date.[1]
Nor could a registration or incorporation date for the publisher be retrieved. Founding, incorporation and the adoption of the present domain are three separate dates, and none of them is established here.
Why does FilGoal matter in Egypt's sport?
It is an Arabic-language specialist title of national scope rather than a sports section of a general newspaper, and its stated coverage spans the domestic league, the Cairo clubs and the continental and European competitions Egyptian clubs and the national team enter.[1]
Because it publishes no ownership statement and no audited audience figure, claims about its position rest on the outlet's own description of itself, which is recorded here as such rather than adopted.[1] Where a competition outcome matters, the governing bodies' own records remain the citable source.[2][3]
Its practical place on an Egyptian sports-media list is as the Arabic-language digital title covering the league week by week alongside the continental frame, where the confederation's own records supply the counts, such as Al Ahly's twelfth continental title in May 2024.[3]
Because the outlet publishes neither an ownership statement nor a founding date, what it is can be described from its own pages but not dated or attributed beyond them, and this page does not supply either from inference.[1] See sport in Egypt.
