What is Fanatik?
Fanatik is a daily sports title with a news site at fanatik.com.tr. The site's own meta description calls it a “spor gazetesi”, and its footer carries the line “Copyright © 2026 www.fanatik.com.tr Demirören Yayıncılık ve Gazetecilik A.Ş.| Tüm Hakları Saklıdır”.[1] Its künye names the same company as publisher and prints no address, no editorial titles and no founding date.[2]
Its owner names it. Demirören lists its written-media brands as Milliyet, Hürriyet, Posta, Fanatik, Gazetevatan and Milliyet Sanat, its television brands as Kanal D, CNN Türk, Teve2, Dream TV, Dream Turk and D Smart, its radio brands as Radyo D and CNN Türk Radyo, and its news agency as DHA; it also lists Skorer, Skorer TV and SporArena among its digital brands.[3] On the group's own founding the same page states only “Bu başarıya; kurucumuz, ebedi başkanımız Sayın Erdoğan Demirören'in yüzde 100 yerli ve milli sermaye ilkesi ile ulaştık”, and gives no date; that is the group's own characterisation of itself and is quoted rather than adopted.[3]
What does Fanatik cover?
The site's standing sections are Futbol, Basketbol, Diğer Sporlar, Yazarlar, Canlı Skor, Hipodrom and Videolar — football, basketball, other sports, columnists, live scores, horse racing and video.[1] The presence of a dedicated horse-racing section alongside the football and basketball sections is a distinguishing feature of the title's section list as published.
The domestic football core is set by the federation's competition statute, which defines the Süper Lig as the country's top professional football division, composed for 2024–2025 of nineteen clubs playing a double round-robin, with four relegation places and international entry on UEFA's criteria and list.[4] Article 1 of that statute reserves the naming of the division exclusively to the federation's board, so the sponsored name a title prints is the board's choice and not the statute's, and Article 3 fixes the double round-robin and the four relegation places.[4]
How large is Fanatik's audience?
No audited circulation or readership figure for the title could be retrieved. Basın İlan Kurumu could not be fetched for this page, so no circulation figure is given here and none is estimated.
Traffic estimators are not audited measurement and are not used. The nearest published measurement of how people reach sports content is the regulator's own survey: the Radyo ve Televizyon Üst Kurulu's Medyametre Medya Kullanım Alışkanlıkları Araştırması 2024, conducted face to face with 15,766 respondents aged 15 and over across 26 provinces with fieldwork in January–August 2024, lists “Spor Yorum Programları” among the television programme types watched at 35.7 per cent. That is a television figure and it does not speak to this title.[5]
Since when has Fanatik existed?
No founding date for the title could be retrieved from its own pages. The künye names the publishing company and nothing more, and the only date on the site is the copyright year in the footer.[2][1] The group's own brand listing names Fanatik among its written-media titles but gives no date of founding or of acquisition.[3]
What is fixed and dated is the current publisher: Demirören Yayıncılık ve Gazetecilik A.Ş., as printed on the site's künye and footer and read on 23 September 2026.[2]
Why does Fanatik matter in Turkey's sport?
It is a daily sports title published by a diversified media group rather than by a sports broadcaster, and that group's own brand listing places it beside national dailies, television channels, radio stations and a news agency under the same ownership.[3] That structure — a sports daily inside a diversified group — is what the ownership record shows, stated from the group's own pages.
The commercial weight of the football coverage such a title carries is documented by the federation rather than by the title. The Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu announced on 2 March 2024 that package E of the tender for the transfer of Süper Lig and TFF 1. Lig broadcasting rights had gone to Krea İçerik Hizmetleri ve Prodüksiyon A.Ş. at “sezonluk 182.000.000,00-USD (218.400.000,00-USD KDV DAHİL)”, with 11 March 2024 set as the deadline for completing the legal procedures; the announcement does not state which seasons the contract covers.[7]
Reporters Without Borders places Türkiye 163rd of 180 countries in its 2026 World Press Freedom Index with a score of 27.94, on indicator scores of 20.16 political, 26.78 economic, 31.20 legal, 28.93 social and 32.61 security, and the opening sentence of the Media landscape section of its Türkiye country page reads: “With 90% of national media outlets under government control, the public has turned towards media outlets of varying political stances that are independent and critical of power over the past five years to learn about the impact of the economic and political crisis on the country.”[6] That is quoted as the organisation published it, at country level, and no inference is drawn from it about this title.
