What is Ekipa?

Ekipa is a Slovene sports title. Its website is carried on its own host, ekipa.svet24.si, a subdomain of the svet24.si parent site rather than a path of it, and that host is the domain recorded here; svet24.si itself is a separate general title with its own sports section.[1] The footer of the site carries the line "© 2026 Salomon d.o.o. Vse pravice pridržane", which is the publisher's own identification of itself.[1]

It exists in two forms at once. The site offers subscriptions to a printed edition under the name Tiskana Ekipa and a digital subscription, Ekipa Premium, advertised at 1,49 € a month; the print subscription is routed through the trafika24.si service.[1] Those are the publisher's own descriptions of its products, reported as such.

What does Ekipa cover?

The site's own section structure covers football — including Prva liga Telemach, Slovene clubs in Europe, the national team and foreign leagues — basketball including the ABA League and the Slovenian league, cycling, winter sport with separate ski jumping and alpine skiing sections, handball, ice hockey, volleyball, athletics, tennis, combat sports, water sports, futsal and motorsport, alongside an entertainment section.[1]

Two retrieved pieces show the range. On 5 March 2026 Ekipa reported on the value of domestic league television rights, stating that United Media holds the rights to the Slovenian first division and that, on "neuradne informacije" — unofficial information, the article's own characterisation — the annual compensation is "med 2,1 in 2,3 milijona evrov", that first-division clubs receive roughly 200,000 euros a season, and, for comparison, that the Croatian association had signed a five-year television and marketing agreement worth 61.7 million euros of which 49.2 million euros came from Croatian Telekom.[2] On 5 August 2025 it reported that the National Assembly had unanimously adopted the Nacionalni program športa v Republiki Sloveniji za obdobje 2026–2035, and that the ministry would prepare an implementation plan.[3] Both are the title's own reporting and are attributed to it.

How large is Ekipa's audience?

No audited figure for Ekipa could be retrieved. The recognised press currency in Slovenia is the Nacionalna raziskava branosti, the national readership survey, and no result for this title from that survey was obtained for this page; nor was a circulation figure published by the publisher or by a circulation auditor.[1]

Nor does the web measurement help directly. MOSS, whose monthly results Marketing magazin publishes, reports at domain level: its March 2026 release, published on 7 April 2026, gives figures for 24ur.com, siol.net and rtvslo.si within a measured universe of 1,521,902 monthly users across 56 participating sites, and does not carry a separate line for Ekipa.[4] What can be said is that the title sells both a printed and a paid digital edition;[1] what cannot be said is how many people read either, and it is not estimated here.

Since when has Ekipa existed?

A founding date for the title could not be established from a source retrieved for this page. The site's own pages carry the publisher's copyright line for 2026 and its subscription offers, but no dated statement of when the title began publishing, and the imprint page sought at the obvious address did not resolve.[1]

The dated Ekipa material retrieved directly here runs from August 2025 to March 2026,[2][3] which establishes that the title was publishing across that period and nothing more. Founding, relaunch and change of publisher are three different dates, and none of them is asserted here.

Why does Ekipa matter in Slovenia's sport?

Because a daily sports title that maintains both a printed edition and a paid digital tier is a structural feature of a small market rather than a claim about influence, and because its reporting on the commercial side of Slovene sport is specific and citable: the television-rights figures above are among the few euro amounts published for the Slovenian first division.[2]

The ownership context has been assessed by named bodies. The Euromedia Ownership Monitor's Slovenia report of December 2025 states that "The Slovenian media landscape is characterized by a pronounced concentration of ownership in the hands of a few major groups, alongside a web of business and political interests", and that "Complex ownership chains, the use of third parties, or formally concealed ownership reduce the effectiveness of legislation".[5] The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom's 2026 Media Pluralism Monitor scores Slovenia at 75 per cent risk for Market Plurality and observes that "The Mass Media Act (ZMed-1) introduced stronger transparency obligations regarding ownership, financing, and public funding, but their effects remain to be seen".[6] Neither body's Slovenia report retrieved here names this title's owner beyond what its own footer states, and no further ownership chain is asserted.
