What is Arena Sport?
Arena Sport, whose own site writes the name in Latin and which is also rendered in Cyrillic as Арена спорт, is a Serbian sports television channel group with a website at tvarenasport.com that carries live coverage, results and video .[1] Its impressum names Владимир Сукдолак as главни уредник and Константин Радуловић as his deputy, lists nine named journalists, and carries the line „©tv arena 2026. sva prava zadržana” together with a reference to ACG Network; it does not carry a registration number, a company address or an explicit ownership statement.[2] The ownership statement comes instead from the channel's own news pages, which in a report of 30 January 2026 describe Arena Sport as an integral part of Telekom Srbija and attribute the channel's sports investment to that company .[3] On 2 April 2025 the same news pages reported that „Kompanija Telekom Srbija uspešno je realizovala kupovinu određenih prava, licenci i ostale imovine povezane sa Sport klub kanalima” across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, and quoted Telekom Srbija's general director Vladimir Lučić describing the transaction as „pobeda svih ljubitelja sporta”.[4] Those are the channel's and the company's characterisations of their own transaction, reported here with their dates.
What does Arena Sport cover?
The channel's own listings organise its output around football — the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League and the Serbian Super liga — basketball including the NBA, the EuroLeague and the ABA League, tennis across the ATP and WTA tours and the Davis Cup, and handball, volleyball, motor sport and combat sports.[1] Its 2 April 2025 report set out the same range for the enlarged operation, listing the five major European football leagues, NBA and EuroLeague basketball, tennis, handball, volleyball, water polo, combat sports, Formula 1 and MotoGP, and stated an intention to „otvoriti više novih kanala” .[4] The single rights position with a stated term is football: on 30 January 2026 the channel announced that „ugovor o prenosima utakmica engleske Premijer lige produžen do 2034. godine”.[3] The report did not state when the current deal began, and no start date is asserted here. Rights of this kind go stale quickly, so the date anchor matters: the term announced is to 2034, as stated in January 2026.[3]
How large is Arena Sport's audience?
No audited audience figure for the Arena Sport channels could be retrieved for this page. The recognised measurement for television in Serbia is peoplemeter panel measurement: weekly viewing tables in the Serbian trade press are credited to Nielsen Audience Measurement,[5] whose Serbian operation Advertiser Serbia described, in an article of 24 February 2011, as the Serbian arm of AGB Nielsen Media Research running TAM peoplemeter measurement, without a stated panel size .[6] The weekly tables retrieved for this page published their channel-by-channel figures as images rather than as text, so no share figure for Arena Sport is reproduced here.[5] Traffic estimators such as Similarweb are not audited measurement and are not used. What can be stated with a date is the distribution position rather than the audience: the channel's own report of 2 April 2025 describes the Telekom Srbija acquisition as covering four markets in the region,[4] and a reader comparing that against an audience claim should note the two are different things.
Since when has Arena Sport existed?
The channel's impressum carries a 2026 copyright line and its editorial masthead but no founding date, no registration number and no company address.[2] No primary source giving a launch date for the channel group was retrieved for this page, and none is asserted. What is dated is the current corporate position: the channel described itself as an integral part of Telekom Srbija in a report of 30 January 2026,[3] and reported the completion of Telekom Srbija's purchase of rights, licences and other assets connected with the Sport klub channels on 2 April 2025.[4] Founded, acquired and renamed are three different dates, and only the second of the three can be fixed here from a retrieved source.
Why does Arena Sport matter in Serbia's sport?
Its documented significance is as a rights holder rather than as a measured audience. It states a Premier League contract running to 2034 as at January 2026,[3] and its own listings place the Serbian Super liga, the EuroLeague and the ABA League on its schedules.[1] The April 2025 transaction it reported moved rights, licences and assets attached to a competing channel brand into the same telecommunications group across four markets.[4] On the wider question of how ownership of that kind is disclosed, the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom's Media Pluralism Monitor for Serbia 2026 scores market plurality at 74 per cent, a high risk, and states that „current regulations do not stop hidden ownership or undisclosed links between media owners and political actors” and that „the lack of comprehensive financial information on specific horizontal markets such as television, internet, print and radio serious obstacle to achieving transparency in media ownership”.[7] That is the monitor's finding about the Serbian market, quoted and attributed, and it is not a finding about this channel.
