What is 1FLTV?
1FLTV is a television channel in Liechtenstein that describes itself as “Das Liechtensteiner Fernsehen”. Its site names the operator as MEDIA1 Service AG, of Poststrasse 17, Schaan.[1] Its own page on the company states: “Trägerin des Senders ist die MEDIA1 Service AG. Geschäftsführerin ist Sandra Woldt.”[2]
The Stiftung Zukunft.li study of October 2025 states: “Die Media 1 Service AG betreibt den privat finanzierten Fernsehkanal 1FLTV.”[3] A figure in the same study, sourced to the Government for 2010 to 2024, shows Media 1 Service AG among the recipients of support under the Medienförderungsgesetz; the figure prints no amounts as text.[3] No register entry naming the operator's shareholders was retrieved, and no regulator's decision on the channel was retrieved.
What does 1FLTV cover?
The channel states: “Politik, Gesellschaft, Kultur und Sport bilden die Hauptinhalte des Programms.” It describes a programme of one hour a day, beginning at 18:00, built from news and its follow-up formats, portraits, talks and political discussions.[2]
Its site listed, for 24 September 2026, a “Sporttalk mit Ernst Hasler” with Alessio Hasler as guest; items of 25 and 26 September 2026 were news and culture programmes.[1] That is one week's reading of the site, and no broadcast-rights agreement for any competition was retrieved.
How large is 1FLTV's audience?
No audited television audience measurement for Liechtenstein was retrieved. The channel states that its programme is distributed in digital form on the cable networks of Telecom Liechtenstein and of TV-COM AG in all eleven municipalities and in the Rhine valley, reaching about 130,000 households, and that it has also been available on Zattoo since 2021 and on Salt.TV since 2022.[2] That is a technical reach claimed by the channel, not a viewing figure.
The representative survey of media use commissioned by the Government, by Thomas Milic, Philippe Rochat and Julian Meier (fieldwork 27 September to 15 November 2023, residents aged 16 to 79), asks how respondents use media for news. It reports that in 2018 27 per cent watched 1FLTV at least occasionally and that in 2023 about a third said they had watched the channel; its authors treat the comparison as limited because the 2018 survey asked about general use and the 2023 survey about use for news.[4] The Stiftung Zukunft.li study, citing that survey, reads it as a slight increase in the channel's use for news since 2018.[3] The survey's authors also report that 1FLTV, like the other domestic outlets they asked about, received high quality ratings from its regular users, and that these ratings were somewhat lower everywhere than in 2018.[4]
Since when has 1FLTV existed?
The channel states: “Er nahm zum Staatsfeiertag am 15. August 2008 den Betrieb auf.”[2] That is its own account; no independent source for the date was retrieved. The Stiftung Zukunft.li study of October 2025 describes the channel as operating in that year.[3] Its site carried new programmes on 26 September 2026.[1]
Why does 1FLTV matter in Liechtenstein's sport?
1FLTV names sport among its main programme contents and runs a sport talk format.[2][1] Radio Liechtenstein, the public broadcaster, announced on 2 April 2025 that it would end broadcasting permanently at 18:00 on 3 April 2025, on the basis of a privatisation decision taken in a referendum the previous year.[5] The Stiftung Zukunft.li study dates that vote to 27 October 2024 and the station's going silent to 4 April 2025.[3]
In the government-commissioned survey, sport ranks fourth among the topics respondents follow in the media, at 46 per cent; the survey does not break that figure down by outlet.[4]
