What is FEVEDA?
FEVEDA (Federación Venezolana de Deportes Acuáticos) is the national governing body of aquatic sports in Venezuela, governing swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming and open water through the country's state associations.[1] [2]
What does FEVEDA govern?
As the recognized national federation, it holds authority over the aquatic disciplines in Venezuela: sanctioning competition, maintaining national records and rankings, licensing athletes and clubs, and applying World Aquatics technical rules domestically.[1]
How does FEVEDA fit into international aquatics?
The federation is a member of World Aquatics and competes within the Americas' structure through Panam Aquatics and its zone confederation CONSANAT. Venezuelan aquatic athletes compete regularly at world level — twelve entered the 2025 World Championships across three disciplines — and the country has a long tradition in South American and Bolivarian competition, including hosting the 1994 South American Games in Valencia.[3]
National teams and athlete pathway
FEVEDA selects and enters Venezuela's national teams for the Olympic Games, World Championships, Pan American, South American and Bolivarian Games, and the South American Championships; national championships and rankings drive its selections.[1] [2]
