What is FEDDA?
FEDDA (Federación Dominicana de Deportes Acuáticos) is the national governing body of aquatic sports in the Dominican Republic. Long known as FEDONA (Federación Dominicana de Natación), it adopted its current name in March 2025 to reflect its authority across all the aquatic disciplines.[1] [2]
What does FEDDA govern?
As the recognized national federation, it holds authority over the aquatic disciplines in Dominican Republic: sanctioning competition, maintaining national records and rankings, licensing athletes and clubs, and applying World Aquatics technical rules domestically.[1]
How does FEDDA fit into international aquatics?
The federation is a member of World Aquatics and competes within the Americas' structure through Panam Aquatics and its zone confederation CCCAN. Dominican aquatic sport has grown alongside the country's role as a games host — Santo Domingo staged the centennial CAC Games in 2026 — and Dominican swimmers compete at the World Championships and across CCCAN competition.[3]
National teams and athlete pathway
FEDDA selects and enters the Dominican Republic's national aquatic teams — for the Olympic Games, World Championships, Pan American Games, CAC Games and CCCAN Championships — and organizes the national championships beneath them.[1] [2]
